With the Toshiba SD1700 DVD-Video player, you'll get Toshiba quality and all the features common to Toshiba DVD players--for a bargain price. The SD1700's feature set includes parallel video output (great for multi-room viewing), Dolby Digital and DTS digital-audio output (for use with a surround-decoding AV receiver), Spatializer N-2-2 virtual surround sound (for making your two speakers sound like four), three slow-motion speeds, and an icon-based onscreen display for simple setup and adjustments. Another key feature is the player's ColorStream component-video outputs. A component-video connection is the ideal way to connect a digital video source like DVD to a TV display (requires compatible inputs), resulting in increased image purity, and incredibly lifelike and very crisp color resolutions. The 10-bit D/A converter with high-resolution filter ensures excellent picture quality, while the 24-bit/192 kHz audio converter with dialogue enhancement renders clear and dynamic sound reproduction.
