The unit plays your favorite DVDs and a range of popular digital media files, offering MP3 listening convenience alongside compatibility with Kodak Picture CDs and recordable CDs filled with JPEG images. The user's manual even offers tips on creating your own high-quality MP3 files. Top-of-the-line component-video outputs help minimize digital and line-scan artifacts on compatible advanced televisions, while composite- and S-video outputs bring compatibility with nearly any television. A set of left/right analog-audio outputs channel audio to Dolby Pro Logic receivers and stereo televisions. Both Dolby Digital and DTS 5.1-channel surround-sound signals can be routed through the player's digital-audio outputs (one each of RCA coaxial and Toslink optical) for direct connection to a full-featured audio/video receiver. There's no display on the unit itself, but Coby has gone out of its way to ensure that the OSD (onscreen display) is widely usable, and you can set it to not merely English, Spanish, and French, but German and Italian as well.
